Just a quick post for other people who find that they are having problems trying to build a Maven Job in Jenkins. I’ve just spent the best part of an afternoon trying to track down why I kept getting a Non-resolvable parent POM error message while trying to build a Maven Job in Jenkins. It worked fine in the command line but refused to build in Jenkins. After lots of hair pulling out and other people um’in and ar’ing I eventually found a solution. If you keep getting this error, try creating a new Freestyle Job and add the maven build as a build step. It worked great for my project. I hope this post saves anyone else a wasted afternoon trying to track this down.

600 people reached the top of Mt. Everest in 2012. This blog got about 5,900 views in 2012. If every person who reached the top of Mt. Everest viewed this blog, it would have taken 10 years to get that many views.
Just a quick post. I’ve been working on some mechanics of the standalone game and will post more later on that. I’ve been really busy with my “Day Job” which currently involves Windows Azure, so I haven’t had much time to much with this project or post here.
I’m really looking forward to the Mango SDK, primarily due to the SQL CE integration which will make handling/storing data so much easier.
Also going to the Microsoft Tech Days 23rd to 25th May (2011) in London.

Hi,
I was getting the following error when trying to install MVC 3 on my Visual Studio 2010 ultimate installation. It happened in the initial part of the install. After some web searching I managed to find a solution that worked so I thought I would post the link to the blog post that helped.

Look for the second update on the page and follow those instructions to make it work. I hope Microsoft will fix this and re-release the installer.

Someone suggested I start a blog about my experiences working with VB.net. So I thought I’d give it a go.
I have recently got a Windows 7 Phone (Samsung Omnia 7) and have set up a development account and have started to learn about how to develop for it. (In VB of course 
)
I’ll post my first experiences soon. This is just a quick hello world post.
